Penerimaan Ibu dan Pendampigannya pada Anak Down Syndrome pada Pandemi Covid-19

Memiliki anak dengan Down Syndrome merupakan tantangan tersendiri bagi orangtua. Terutama pada pembelajaran online dikarenakan pandemi COVID-19 yang mengharuskan orangtua, dalam penelitian ini ibu, mendampingi anak dengan ekstra. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerimaan sang ibu yang memiliki anak down syndrome dan pendampingan yang dilakukan mengingat besarnya perubahan yang terjadi pada pandemi COVID-19. Memakai metode penelitian kualitatif dengan fokus pada interpretative phenomenology analysis (IPA). Sampelnya purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara dan observasi. Hasil yang diperoleh: Strategi coping berhubungan dengan penerimaan sang ibu terdiri dari faktor internal dan ekstenal. Untuk internal yaitu dari dalam diri ibu dengan melewati lima tahapan melalui teorinya Elisabeth Kubler Ross: five stages of the grieving. Kemudian faktor eksternal yang terdiri dari dukungan suami, keluarga, lingkungan serta teman seperjuangan Selanjutnya, pendampingan ibu berhubungan dengan perannya yang ganda sebagai ibu dan guru yang memperkuat ikatan batin dengan sang anak.
