Mental health of frontline help-seeking healthcare workers during the COVID-19 outbreak in the first affected hospital in Lombardy, Italy

Highlights

• The study aimed at examining the psychopathological burden in HCWs facing the COVID-19 pandemic

• 45 HCWs were enrolled in the Italian epicenter of Codogno

• Assessments include IES-r, GAD-7, PHQ-9, RS and WSAS

• 28 HCWs were screened positive for PTSD, 11 for depression and 14 for anxiety

• A significant positive association emerged between the IES-r and the WSAS
