COVID-19 in Mexico: emotional, economic and labor effects during confinement
Main Article Content
Abstract
In order to evaluate the effects derived from confinement due to the disease known as COVID-19, two scales consisting of five dimensions each were used: the scale of organizational support and teleworking, and the second one on the consequences derived from confinement. 5,528 workers from the Mexican Republic answered the online survey (45.9% women and 54.1% men). The results indicated adequate adjustments to both scales: the first with an χ2(109) = 3008.970 p < .000, CFI =.94; RMSEA = .075; SRMR=.054 and the second with an χ2(142) = 2367.49, p < .000, CFI =.95; RMSEA = .071; SRMR = .052. The analyses showed that telecommuting is positively predicted by job communication, leadership, organizational support and concern, while job emotivation and emotional affectation predict it negatively. The results are discussed in terms of the implications of teleworking during confinement and work life in Mexico.
