Rather than trying to beat SARS-CoV-2 using one booster vaccine at a time, it would be better to build systems and pursue policies that protect the health of communities. These might include paid sick leave, protection for essential workers, better masks, improved ventilation, rapid test availability, places where sick people can easily isolate, social distancing, and ways of retaining an exhausted healthcare workforce.
