본 연구의 목적은 코로나19 상황에서 대학 신입생의 수업 경험을 분석하여 학생에 대한 이해를 높이고, 좋은 수업 운영을 위해 필요한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 4년제 지방사립대인 H대학교에 2020년도에 입학한 신입생 30명을 대상으로 FGI를 실시하여 수업과 관련한 학생들의 경험을 조사하였다. 현상학적 분석 방법으로 3개의 범주, 10개의 주제 및 3개의 하위주제를 도출하였다. 연구결과, 신입생은 대형 강의실에서의 대면수업, 상호작용이 활발한 수업, 유료 인터넷 강의와 같이 수요자 눈높이에 맞춘 강의에 대한 기대를 가지고 있었다. 그러나 기대와 달랐던 수업을 경험한 학생들은 인터뷰에서 온라인 수업의 장단점을 활용한 수업운영 방안을 제안하였으며, 학생들이 참여했던 수업 사례를 통해 온라인에서도 최고의 수업이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다. 아울러 효과적인 온라인 수업을 위해 인터넷 장비와 LMS, 그리고 통신망 관련 문제 해결의 필요성이 제기되었다. 본 연구 결과가 대학 수업의 본질을 되돌아 보고 대학 생활을 처음 경험하는 신입생의 기대와 요구가 고려된 보다 나은 수업을 설계하고 운영하는데 기여할 것으로 기대하며, 후속연구에서는 이를 반영한 수업모델 개발이 필요하다.

The purpose of this study was to provide data for improving the quality of university courses by analyzing learning experiences of university freshmen in the Corona-19 pandemic situation. To this end, FGI was conducted for 30 freshmen who entered H university, a four-year local private school in 2020, to collect data which they experienced in university courses. With a phenomenological analysis method used for the research, three categories, ten themes and three subtopics were derived. As a result of the study, the participants had expectations for lectures in large sized classrooms, interactive courses among instructors and fellow students, and well-ready courses such as paid online learning contents. The study confirmed that meaningful learning experiences could be made if the university courses are improved in consideration of the advantages of various types of online classes such as real-time online lectures and recorded lectures. It also was found that for better online classes, problems related to internet equipments, LMS, and communication networks should be solved first. The results of this study would be helpful in understanding university freshmen who are experiencing university lives for the first time, and in effectively managing classes with consideration of student characteristics.
