Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic no doubt had devastating effects on the economy of many countries including Kenya. This paper examines the extent to which the pandemic and the measures taken thereto affected labour relations and labour rights. It notes that there are glaring gaps in the existing labour laws to address violations in the context of pandemics. It therefore concludes that there is need to rethink the existing labour rights in the context of public emergencies in order to effectively ensure protection of labour rights.
