Abstract

This article identifies the ways in which the COVID-19 pandemic is likely to affect education funding levels. It summarizes the evidence on the negative impact of the pandemic on education funding and identifies some policy measures to mitigate this impact. The study shows the trends in financing the education sector in the context of a pandemic and identifies those that are typical for Russian politics. In addition, special attention is paid to the trends in funding from different sources for private organizations and for government in the context of the use of distance technologies.
