Abstract

The government implemented a lockdown in India in March 2020. Due to the spread of coronavirus, the advisory was issued to people to take necessary measures to prevent the transmission of the disease through maintaining social distancing and using masks. During demonetization, the government promoted the use of digital currency and advised people to pay through online platforms like mobile banking, internet banking and mobile applications. People buy essential items like vegetables, fruits, groceries and household items by paying through digital mode. Not entirely by a feeling of protection against coronavirus infection was there. This paper focused on these types of available online digital payment platforms and their usage by people.
In this, we tried to observe people's online buying behaviour and their preference towards using the available online platforms for purchase from four states, i.e. Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. We analyzed and recommended the use of digital transactions.
