Abstract

This chapter is included in a volume celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia. The chapter is included in a section collecting insights from different jurisdictions, where authors reflect on the role and position of the constitution in the efforts of our societies to tackle the pandemic crisis. To do this, the chapter explores the peculiar role Italy played in the global scenario, connected to the a peculiarly difficult position within the global community in the pandemic crisis, as the country was hit by the spread of the COVID-19 virus relatively early and absolutely hard.
