Highlights

  • COVID-19 is associated with vascular endothelial damage and thrombosis.

  • ECFCs from recovered COVID-19 patients are abnormal and have no proliferative capacity.

  • Plasma from COVID-19 patients induces dysfunction of ECFCs obtained from controls and VTD patients.

  • Our date may help to explain the increased frequency of thrombotic episodes in COVID-19 patients.
