ABSTRACT
The extensive uptake of telehealth has considerably improved the healthcare system capability of care delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic but also imposed tremendous challenges of implementation and adaptation. Given the role of telehealth in the healthcare system has become a must option rather than nice-to-have alternatives, it is imperative to evaluate the impact of the introduction of telehealth on the current healthcare system via a systematic approach. In this paper, a human factors framework, The Systems Engineering Initiative for Patient Safety (SEIPS) model, is used to examine the dynamic impact of the current telehealth use amid the COVID-19 and how it affects the work system and process. The analysis results encompassed a variety of discussions on impact and issues that are concerning to the successful implementation and adaption of telehealth.
