Abstract

The study entitled Crisis Leadership during COVID-19 Pandemic of Public School Heads in Malasiqui District, Pangasinan aims to determine the leadership imposed by public school heads in Malasiqui, Pangasinan, Philippines in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic. The study was conducted last 2021. It explored how the school heads managed different possible scenarios within the educational setting and its relationship with the stakeholders despite the challenges brought by the pandemic. The research hypothesis is there is no significant relationship between the profile and crisis leadership competencies of public school heads. Respondents were chosen through a probability sampling wherein both school heads from the elementary and secondary schools were invited to participate in a structured survey-questionnaire. The questionnaire is designed to help the researcher weigh the school heads’ crisis leadership whilst determining the challenges they encountered during the pandemic. Moreover, the study was able to construct a recommendation that may be used as an intervention material toward a sustainable crisis leadership. In line with this recommendation, it is also important to note that it is not a sole responsibility of the school head to reinforce the educational support system but a shared responsibility by all the stakeholders.
