ABSTRACT

Warehousing is one of the functional components of distribution process that has been impacted significantly by the COVIS-19 pandemic. Since warehousing is a key task that is essential to all channel members, it had to be modified continuously during the pandemic to relate to the changes at the manufacturing as well as retailing levels of those channels. As we are now trying to stabilize supply chains gradually, we must learn from our recent experiences and come up with strategies that are going to help us to improve the agility of channel structures. The critical role of warehousing in the channel structure and the overall distribution process creates a need for a better understanding of warehouse operations and the ways to make those operations more resilient in case of future disruptions. This paper highlights various ways to improve warehousing and make it more flexible regardless of the nature of those disruptions.
