Abstract

Introdução: Pacientes internados por COVID-19 apresentam fatores predisponentes para aquisição de infecções secundárias que podem agravar o curso da infecção por COVID-19 e influenciar no esquema terapêutico. É de grande importância poder diagnosticá-los precocemente, sendo isso possível por meio de culturas de amostras respiratórias, sanguíneas e detecção de antígenos por PCR. A incidência, prevalência e características das infecções secundárias não são exatamente conhecidas, portanto, requerem mais investigação. Objetivo: identificar os principais patógenos associados a infecções secundárias em pacientes hospitalizados com diagnóstico de COVID-19. Metodologia: Será realizada uma revisão bibliográfica descritiva não experimental por meio da análise de revisões sistemáticas sobre infecções secundárias em COVID-19 utilizando bases de dados como PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, Up to Date. Resultados: Esta pesquisa busca descobrir que pacientes encaminhados com diagnóstico positivo de COVID-19 que estão hospitalizados são mais suscetíveis à superinfecção de agentes bacterianos, virais e fúngicos. Conclusões: Os pacientes apresentam maior prevalência de infecções bacterianas somadas à infecção viral por COVID-19 quando estão em ambiente hospitalar.
