ÖZET
COVID-19, ilk kez Aralık 2019 tarihinde Çin'in Wuhan kentinde tanımlanan bir solunum yolu enfeksiyonudur.

ABSTRACT
COVID-19 is a respiratory infection that was first identified in Wuhan, China in December 2019. It was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization on 11 March 2020. In most cases with COVID-19, while the disease is mild or uncomplicated, approximately 14% of cases have hospitalization and oxygen support, and 5% have a severe disease requiring care in the intensive care unit. In severe cases, ARDS, sepsis, septic shock, and multiple organ failure involving renal and cardiac damage can occur. In addition, signs and symptoms associated with due to physiological changes and immunological adaptations in the cardiovascular system and respiratory system during pregnancy, the risk of developing complications increases in pregnant women during viral infections. Complications in pregnant women infected with SARS-CoV or MERS-CoV in the past also support this possibility. Vertical transmission has not been reported in SARS-CoV-2 yet. Given the physical effects of past outbreaks on mother and baby during pregnancy, COVID-19 may have similar effects on pregnancy outcomes. For this reason, prenatal, birth and postpartum care of pregnant woman and fetus/newborn is important.
