The new wave of social entrepreneurship-post COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract: Outbreak and spread of COVID-19 severely damaged global economy that led to closure of many start-up firms. This research examines various factors influencing start-ups during post COVID-19 pandemic conditions and their businesses. Micro, small and medium ventures who were started during the pandemic are chosen, descriptive research design was used with 153 units under nine clusters, cluster sampling technique was used with a sample size of 60. Structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data. Five factors were identified, attitude, education, self-efficacy, entrepreneurial capabilities and social norms wherein all of them were influencing start-up behaviours, specifically attitude and self-efficacy highly influenced start-up behaviours and age, educational qualification & investment sources played a definitive role in developing entrepreneurship. Hypotheses were framed and had been tested. As indicated in the objective, it is understood how a particular business could become catalyst(s) in converting a social problem into a business opportunity.
