This article reports the experience of two therapeutic group projects carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil, coordinated by the working and research group Faces do Traumático [Faces of Trauma] at the Department of Psychoanalysis, Sedes Sapientiae Institute, São Paulo, Brazil. The groups were composed of people who lost family members as a result of Covid-19. We aim to demonstrate, using clinical vignettes and quotes from the participants, the importance of group interactions in the process of psychic elaboration of those losses, which took place in the broader context of social trauma that affected us all, through the recognition of suffering and the possibility of naming and giving voice to feelings that had remained silenced.
