• COVID-19 vaccination seems to be related with short term BP alterations.

• This is a potential effect of COVID-19 vaccine on BP rather than a new side effect.

• This phenomenon was mostly observed in older overweight hypertensives.

• The overall benefits of COVID-19 vaccination outweigh this observation.
