Biomarcadores inflamatórios em pacientes com diabetes e COVID-19

Resumo

Durante a pandemia da COVID-19 a busca pelo entendimento da doença proporcionou o descobrimento de biomarcadores inflamatórios que pudessem auxiliar no manejo da doença. Além disso, fatores de risco como o Diabetes mellitus (DM) possuem papel fundamental na gravidade e mortalidade da doença. Assim, marcadores como a Proteína C-reativa (PCR), dímero-D, relação neutrófilos-linfócitos (RNL), relação plaquetas-linfócitos (RPL) e relação monócitos-linfócitos (RML) mostram-se como potenciais biomarcadores prognósticos frente à fisiopatologia da COVID-19 associada ao DM. Em nosso estudo, tivemos como objetivo a avaliação de biomarcadores inflamatórios das amostras de 191 pacientes com COVID-19, dentre eles 47 possuíam diagnóstico de DM e 144 não possuíam a comorbidade, buscando uma melhor compreensão da doença. Como resultados, obtivemos que o parâmetro PCR sofreu aumento significativo em pacientes com COVID-19, destacando-se os resultados entre pacientes diabéticos, no qual esse biomarcador mostra-se como razão de risco independente para mortalidade.
