Abstract

Adaptation is a field of research that has become a trend during the Covid-19 outbreak in various parts of the country. The ability to adapt is one of the ways individuals survive uncertain situations like today. This article reviews the adaptation process from the family environment, focusing on finding models from various literacy on how family institutions adapt and then map them into adaptations that families can do during the Covid-19 pandemic. The literature study from this study resulted that family resilience in dealing with changes in the order in various areas of life was carried out through family adaptation during the Covid-19 pandemic, which could be; a. The ability of family members to be more open and respect privacy when communicating during total activities at home, b. Culture and values ​​applied in the family are the determining factors for individuals to adapt to new habits, c. the resources owned by the family determine the attitudes and ways in which the family develops its potential in dealing with limitations and negative emotions then adapting, d. The adaptive power of men as husbands and or fathers with women as wives and or mothers are driven by different factors, where men are generally due to external factors, while women are due to internal factors, e. Families with different environments produce different adaptability, depending on the family's social capital and social support.
