Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effects of the coronavirus epidemic on hospitality industry. In the study evaluations are done based upon the qualitative research and the secondary data collection methods. US-based, Stellar hotel one of the largest hotel chain in the world with its unique differentiation business model has carved its niche in the hospitality sector. Stellar Ahmedabad is a luxury haven for business and leisure travelers to India. Embrace effortless relaxation in sophisticated hotel rooms and suites with refined design elements, contemporary essentials, marble bathrooms and signature amenities.With their extraordinary experiences and award winning services, the modus operandi of the business lies with the customer retention. The problem arose when covid hit the hospitality sector in March 2020 which led to the room occupancy being narrowed down to 5-10 %. Health-related crises are among the most important factors affecting tourism.Backed by efficient managers and leaders, within two months of pandemic the hotel was able to execute the turnaround strategies in such a way that the profitability along with the emergent practices to increase the revenue picked the right pace.Food handlers and supervisors are trained on safe food preparations and service practices. Furthermore the study will discuss the impact of covid on employee’s duties, responsibilities and expectations in this changing scenario. It also provides an insight into how hospitality businesses are acting in such a crisis situation. Therefore, the work is considered to have an important place in the literature.
