Abstract

COVID-19 is the communicable disease caused by the most recently discovered Corona virus. This new virus was unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019(WHO, 2020). All the affected countries are trying to save their lives from this dangers virus. Therefore in this situation , World Health Organization announced a global emergency condition for the world.

The first case of the virus in Sri Lanka was confirmed on 27 January 2020, after a 44-year-old Chinese woman from Hubei, China, was admitted to the Infectious Disease Hospital in Angoda,Sri Lanka and then still Sri Lanka trying to controlling the spread of COVID-19 more than one year into this pandemic by using several medical recommendation, Government took decision like quarantine curfew, Travel restrictions and vaccination.

in this review study comprehensively examines the impact of COVID-19 on GDP, tourism, employment, inflation, stock market, poverty in Sri Lanka.
